Topic: Yoga for students & teachers - well being    Content:  During this workshop, we will look at the benefits of yoga for children and why we introduce these valuable tools in childhood. We will also explore using practical methods on how to incorporate children’s yoga and mindfulness in the Montessori room. About Children's Yoga Louise teaches yoga in Schools with compassion, encouragement, and mindfulness. Classes are designed for each age group and centre on different themes. Classes can be tailored to tie in with projects that the schools are working on with children eg, Anti-bullying, mindfulness, being active, building self-confidence etc. During Children’s yoga with Louise, the focus is mainly on Hatha Yoga or Physical Yoga and is delivered in a fun manner incorporating singing, story-telling, exploration of ideas and games. During classes children will practice breathing techniques, physical Asana poses, partner work, singing, artwork, and relaxations. These will relate to listening skills, rhythmic skills, singing skills, and musical games.                                                                  The Hungarian composer and music educator, Zoltan Kodaly (1882 -1967) had a belief that music education should be everyone, he firmly believed that music has a strong influence on personal development that effects the entire personality. He wanted to introduce a universal music education for everyone from infants to adults.                                                                              Presenter:  Marie Fogarty B.A. Music, Diploma in Music, Diploma in Music Education.  Marie holds a B.A. Music and a Diploma in Music Education which focused on the study of Pre Instrumental music in the early years. Marie studied teaching techniques and has teaching fellowships in Music and Drama.
